Sejarah Uganda
Republic Uganda (English: Republic of Uganda, Swahili: Jamhuri ya Uganda [4]) is a country in East Africa. The country, nicknamed the “Pearl of Africa” by Winston Churchill, is bordered by Kenya to the east, Sudan to the north, the Democratic Republic of Congo to the west, Rwanda to the southwest, and Tanzania and Lake Victoria to the south. The country’s name comes from the Buganda kingdom which used to cover the southern part of Uganda. Uganda is divided into 70 districts.
The Large Lake of Uganda
Although it has no beaches, Uganda has several large lakes, such as Lake Victoria, Lake Albert, Lake Kyoga, and Lake Edward. This country is located on the plateau of East Africa, about 900 m above sea level. Uganda has a tropical climate in general, but there is also variation of Togel Uganda. Uganda has several islands in Lake Victoria. The most important cities located in the south near Lake Victoria include the capital Kampala and the nearby town Entebe.
Population of Uganda
Uganda’s population grew from 9.5 million people in 1969 to 34.9 million in 2014. In relation to the last inter-census period (September 2002), the population increased by 10.6 million people in the last 12 years. Uganda’s median age of 15 is the lowest in the world. Uganda has the fifth highest total fertility rate in the world, at 5.97 children born per woman (2014 estimate).
There were about 80,000 Indians in Uganda before Idi Amin necessitated the expulsion of Ugandan-Asians (mostly Indian) in 1972, reducing the population to 7,000. However, many Indians returned to Uganda after Amin’s fall in 1979. About 90 percent of Ugandan Indians live in Kampala.
According to the UNHCR, Uganda hosted more than 1.1 million refugees in its country as of November 2018. [170] Most come from neighboring countries in Africa’s Great Lakes region, particularly South Sudan (68.0 percent) and the Democratic Republic of Congo (24 , 6%)).
